Our Teachers

Meet our Teachers!

All of our registered Music Together® teachers have undergone an intensive training through Music Together LLC Worldwide and the Princeton Center for Music and Young Children.

2,000 classes taught, and counting!

Alexia Tate founded this center in 2017, after moving to the Hudson Valley from Queens, where she taught Music Together® for three years and founded Story Garden, a musical storytime for young children. As a Music Together parent, Alexia fell in love with the philosophy of the class and decided to do the teacher training, which led to an even stronger passion for the program. She has been awarded both Music Together Certification Level I and Certification Level II status, having demonstrated outstanding achievement in teaching, musicianship, program philosophy, and parent education. In addition, she has completed the 15-hour Berklee Accessible Music Education Study Group, intended to provide educators with unique learning opportunities to develop their skills in working effectively with students with disabilities in arts classrooms, ensemble, and studio settings.

Alexia has also taught Musical Theater for children age 5-12 at Theater O in Ossining, and continues to offer Story Garden at The Field Library in Peekskill and at Peek-a-Boo Family Music Center.

Before changing gears to become a mom, Alexia performed on New York's off-off-Broadway and nightclub stages for 15 years, and in 2009 she played Mrs. Howell in the the first national tour of GILLIGAN'S ISLAND: THE MUSICAL. Other favorite kid-friendly roles include the Queen in 13th St. Repertory's RUMPLE WHO? and the title role in Rising Sun's original cast of DOTTY DOT, which has become a children's theater sensation across the country. Alexia trained in NYC at Singers Forum with Phil Campanella and Stephanie Scott and at T. Schreiber Studio with Tracy Trevett, and received the 2007 Andy Anselmo Achievement Award for Emerging Artists.

Reanna’s journey to Music Together® began as a parent in Alexia’s class.  After falling in love with the Music Together program with her boys, she joined Alexia at Peek-A-Boo Family Music and subsequently completed teacher training through Music Together LLC Worldwide.

Reanna is a seasoned performer with vast professional experience in theater and music.  She is a graduate of The American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and has toured the country performing lead roles in musicals for young audiences. Favorite shows include Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Ugly Duckling. In addition to her career as a leading lady in musicals and cabarets, Reanna has a special affinity for teaching music, theater and dance to young children. She has worked as a teaching artist with Wingspan Arts and a teaching assistant for Gymboree Play and Music, both in New York City. In Westchester, she was a teaching assistant with New Rochelle Day Nursery, where she entertained children singing with her autoharp and choreographed the final pre-k graduation performance.

Reanna first met Alexia while performing at 13th Street Repertory in New York City in the original musical Rumple Who? and is thrilled for the opportunity to collaborate once again.
